Have to give a BIG shout-out to Rasoul on both of these new additions. He spotted them un-graded at a comic convention and handled the purchase for me with the dealer. Just got them back from AFA -- two very tough to find 80's (especially the Parademon). I really thought the Parademon had a shot at an overall 85 (which is a grail for me), but both look incredible.
I'm now at 23 of 33 in AFA 85 overall with seven more in AFA 80, plus one 75 (Penguin) and one 70 (Hawkman). While I'll still be looking to up-grade that last 10 to overall 85's, I'm now just one figure short of a complete AFA-graded set on their debut cards -- Desaad. Anybody with a really nice US 23-back Desaad, please let me know!!

One to go to have the full run? Congrats on that. Cant believe that parademon didn't score an 85, I don't see anything that would take it down (but I am not a graded collector so don't know what they count as flaws)

Yep, just need DeSaad. All the decent ones I see pop up always seem to be 23-back on a Canadian card or 33-back. Really tough one to find.
Maybe a small dent or two on the bubble to knock the Parademon down to an 80 sub-grade for the bubble, but I don't think to the degree that the overall grade should be an 80.
Along with my 12-back Brainiac and my SP carrying case, these are 80's that I just don't know how AFA didn't give them 85's.

Yeah, it seems like they were being especially picky about that Parademon. That's one of the nicest examples I've ever seen.

I think they were being really picky with Parademon as that's probably one of the nicest examples I've seen as well.
