Many a times on ebay people pay way too much for an action figure. Today I saw an Orion mint on there for $39 buy it now, two rows down they had another for $200.
Bottom line, yes way too expensive for a Darkseid.

I guess in the end it all comes down to the patience level of each collector in terms of what they are willing to spend. Some collectors want things and they want them yesterday, so they don't bother shopping around for good deals as it isn't worth their time. Others are more patient and appreciate the thrill of the hunt, thus they are willing to go without until the right opportunity present itself. There's no right or wrong way to go about it, but hunting for deals definitely helps stretch a collecting budget much farther from my perspective, especially where production toys are concerned!
