Custom display case

In the process of putting together a display case for my series 1 collection. All original, but missing Wonder Woman's lasso. I think I'm going paint the case white. The plexi glass slips through the top. The shelves are plexi as well.

Now I need to start collecting series 2 and 3 so I can build 2 more cases. I have a lot of series 1 loose duplicate figures if anyone is looking to trade.

I'll post more pictures when it is finished.

That's a great-looking display case. Nicely done.

Re: Custom display case

So... I bought a big lot of Super Powers off ebay for $300 and it had nearly all of series 1, 2 and 3 loose. Condition wasn't too bad after they were washed up. I'm missing a lot of accessories, Kalibak and Cyborg but it is a good start.

I'm missing the Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter comics as well. Does anyone know if someone has done custom comics for series 3 and Clark Kent? If not, I may be testing my photoshop skills to create some custom comic covers.

My other two cases are built. They just need to be sanded and painted. Each case holds 12 figures so I have two spots to fill... Guess I have to make a custom Captain Ray and Riddler...

If anyone is willing to trade or can point me in the right direction for custom comics, please let me know. Thanks.

To this day, any mention of the Super Powers Wonder Woman's lasso reminds me of the time I dropped her lasso in my living room while cleaning the figure. No big deal, except I could not find the lasso! Searched all over the floor for at least an hour, but couldn't find it. Searched every day for days and couldn't find it. I never found it. It' s been more the ten years, but I still remember it and "wonder" where it disappeared to! Love your case by the way.

Re: Custom display case

I can sympathize with lost lassos. When I got Wonder Woman back in the 1980s I think I had it for maybe a week. The lasso got tied knots around the batmobile. My mom cut it up and threw it away. I have a repo lasso on order which should display just fine. But I'll always yearn for the original.

My custom Riddler is complete. I think he turned out pretty nice for the first time doing something like this. I'll have to get some white water slide decal paper for Captain Rayo. I tried his logo on clear paper and you could not see it.

Thanks! Took awhile to make. I'm still working on a few more custom comic covers for series 3. Will post pics of all the covers when the display is done.

Now I just have to decide if I should post pics before or after I get a Cyborg... Still on the hunt for a reasonably priced loose figure.

You need to back-paint behind the clear water decal. For instance, if you were doing the Superman logo you would paint the shield yellow on his chest and then set the clear water decal (printed red only) over the painted shield.
How did you manage to achieve such nice separation of the pieces on those customs?
