I have been able to locate all the mail ins except the red cape. where can I find one? How much should I pay? Will it fit me if I decide to take a flying leap off the coffe table? and finally how was it packaged.

I would classify the Superman cape mail-away as the toughest of the mail-aways to locate. They show up very infrequently on Ebay based on my experiences. An unused example should fetch $30-40, IMHO. It's child sized, so unless you are extremely petite I don't expect it to fit you. ;^) If memory serves me correctly, they shipped in a large tan envelope similar in style to what the mail-away poster shipped in.

Thanks for the nice compliments, Captain Ray. I'm always glad to be of assistance to fellow collectors whenever possible. I certainly appreciate the kind words and also appreciate you keeping your eyes out on my behalf for the early charcters on 3rd series cards! It's always beneficial to have an extra set of eyes on the lookout, so I'm grateful for this!
