Mike, can I have my wax back now? I really didn't mean to leave it at your house. 😜

Beautiful run Mike! Wax sculpts are among my favorite pre-production items because they seem to differ so significantly from the finished production sculpt.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the compliment! Typically only the conceptual sculpts will differ substantially from their production counterparts. The final sculptings (wax masters) always look exactly like the production toy with the exception of being slightly larger and retaining a bit more detail that gets lost throughout the production process. The sculpting is my favorite part of the production process as well since it's essentially hand-sculpted art!

Mike is that conceptual wax sculpt picture a mirror image or flipped? Just curious on why they changed the way the piece goes across his chest. Seems like a little detail that if it was that way in the initial sculpt would have stayed that way instead of changing it for the production item.

Hi Bryan,

No, it's not a mirror [sign in to see URL] shows the sculpting exactly as it is. It's an early sculpt, so not all that surprising to see changes. It could have been direction from DC to have the chest strap go a different way in the final sculpting.
