I can't believe you outed this auction that I was 100% going to buy as soon as I sell my house, my car, and everything else that I own. My wife'll leave me, but it'll be worth it!

Seriously, though, that's amazing to see higher resolution pictures of than what I saw in Tomart's as a kid. Whoever ends up with that, for whatever price it sells for, will be a lucky collector.

I had never seen it before. I can see the legs and arms appear to be modified c3po. The torso may also be c3po, but the head I don't think is so it may be completely scratch or used another base for the head.

Re: First mock up

Loose figure mock-ups for Wonder Woman and Supergirl were derived from Kenner Glamor Gals figures, so I suspect this Superman mock-up may be derived in part from a Glamour Gals male figure.

That must be where the head is from. The head looks molded though it also may be modified.

It is for sure a neat piece of the lines history.

Re: First mock up

The folks in Preliminary Design were under a very tight deadline to assemble the presentation and accompanying material for the license pitch, so kit-bashing pieces was a good way to save time while under such a dead-line.
