Starting to collect Star Wars

Hey guys,

Was wondering what the best way to pick up a set of the first 12 back figures loose? Im not too worried about them being super minty just wanna see what recommendations you guys have and what the reasonable price range is? Had the 90s figures as a kid and am only now trying to pick up the originals!

Thanks for the help!

I would eBay search for "Star Wars vintage lot" or something similar. Usually if you buy lots or collections the price per figure works out better than buying individual. As far as price goes, look up each one with end auctions and get an average. Due to the movie just coming out, it is near impossible to say a price as new ceilings are being broken everyday it seems.

There's also some good Star Wars groups on Facebook where you could find nice figures w original weapons.

Thanks! Any other ebay searches you recommend? It seems like they can vary a lot with the wide range of dates for toys produced and the type of figures included.

Rebelscum and The Imperial Gunnery are some good old vintage sites. I know Rebelscum has a Facebook page. As for Facebook groups there are a few good vintage ones, Imperial Commisary is a good one. For beaters see the beater cantina.

Biggest problem right now is prices are hot because of the movie hype. Some times people list the 90's figures as vintage on ebay so you need to watch out for that. Another good search is "star wars vintage case" This will usually bring up carrying cases and lots of times there are sellers off loading figures with the cases. Rarely is there a bargain to be had in the current state as most people who have star wars think they have gold (even if the figures are beaten and broken to near useless). Best thing to do is find a lot or whatever that has figures and weapons as sourcing the weapons can be more costly than buying the whole thing together. Especially when you get to the POTF last 17 line.
