Thoughts on Funko?

They pretty much own every license you can think of and have pop vinylfied some of our favorite characters and beyond. I just read that next year ET characters will be released in the retro Reaction line (which is awesome!). I'll def have to get those! I've recently acquired my 3rd POP figure and so far have ET, Slimer, and Stay puft. Anyway, was curious what everyone else thought of them.

PS: to any "Big Lebowski" fans, they'll be getting the Reaction treatment next year as well emoticon

I like the look of the reaction line, though I haven't gotten [sign in to see URL]. I am thinking of getting select ones that I like but the completionist in me knows once I start I will want to get them all and some I don't really care for the look of. I did not know about the pop figures until you posted this and I had to look them up to see what they are. They kind of remind me of the mighty mugs line (I think that is what they where called). They look cool too, but don't really fit in with my stuff display wise.

Re: Thoughts on Funko?

I like the idea behind ReAction, but personally I think they cheaped out on the human face sculpts. Horror and Monster figures look great as the facial features are easily hidden behind masks or paint jobs.
The line I was most looking forward to was Firefly, until I saw how generic and cheap the faces were, and when I looked into the other lines like back to the future and escape from NY, same cheap facial sculpts. I highly doubt this will be fixed and the Big Lebowski figures will look just as crappy!

As for POP they are a niche market that seems to do very well for themselves. Only one I will ever own is GA since he has a place in my collection, the rest do not, although there are 2-3 others that I could, maybe, possibly make room for, but won't.

I LOVE the idea behind the ReAction figures and it warms my heart to see vintage looking cardbacks on the shelves, but the figures themselves are fairly underwhelming.

Haven't gotten any POP figures. They're kind of cool, but I dont really have any need for any of them.

I like them as accents to my collection. like the Slimer and Stay Puft. I also have little side collections going like my ET collection which I have the mystery mini ET and Pop ET. I'm definitely hoping the ET reactions turn out cool. I'll definitely be getting the ET version of those at the least emoticon
