Kenner Cincinnati Tour

I know some of you would love to see these so I thought I'd share. Sadly I ran out of time and didn't get to visit every place I wanted to, but I got the main places or at least the ones that matter the most.

View from Kenner Street looking at the HoJ (Cincinnati Museum)

This is the old Kenner Factory, accompanied by two other buildings.

Those buildings proudly sit along this intersection.

Finally the Kenner/Hasbro morgue. Sadly the Kenner sign is long gone, but this one is still hanging.

Glad you were able to visit these locations, Ken! Thanks for sharing the photos.

The Morgue sign brings back fun memories of dumpster diving with friends there and one other Kenner location back when Hasbro was closing down the Cincy offices! I'm still haunted by the smell of unproduced Star Wars Episode 1 packaging mock ups drying in my basement after that trip since it had rained and diving treasures were a bit soggy as a result. The other dumpster was covered though and yielded some decent dry stuff as well for our efforts. emoticon

Ken, great pics. This must have been a really fun trip. Are these buildings vacant and not used at all for any purpose? There are no cars or people in any of the pics. I know they are no longer kenner, but you would think some other company would buy the building for to use.

Great pre production luke limbs also by the way. I don't know if your on rebelscum, but there is a guy named isashi that sometimes cast clear bodies or parts for some of the guys who have acquired limbs, heads, etc. don't know if you thought about how yours might look with clear body and head, but if your interested I am sure you can search isashi Star Wars customs and see his work and find his site.

Re: Kenner Cincinnati Tour

Hi Bryan, the Cincinnati Toy Show was on a Sunday, which I'm guessing is why they look vacant. Plus I went after I left the show so it was later in the day.

The HoJ looking building is the Cincinnati museum. From this picture it's on a hill. I drove over to get a better pic (in another thread), it was open for business.

The brick building has at least two businesses inside. A building sits to the left with a parking lot and I was standing in another parking lot. I took the HoJ pic and this one from the same parking spot.

The Kenner/Hasbro morgue building has a business in it, but I don't recall what it was. I did take a photo of the front door which had their emblem on it. I'll have to go look to see what it was.

Hi Ken,

Yep! Dan, Wooten, myself, James, and Ron were diving that particular night. emoticon Security chased us away after a bit at the other spot, but we had all the time in the world to wallow in the dumpster like little pigs at the Morgue. You know you've reached a new level of collecting when dumpster [sign in to see URL] sure if it's a good or bad level though. emoticon LOL!
