AFA grading

Hello All,

Im wondering if someone could shed some light on the afagrading process (or a previous post on it)? And what sort of costs it runs.

Id like to keep it carded, but its in a pretty fragile state and it would be cool to display a loose graded. The afa website seems pretty technical so any input is appreciated...

Re: AFA grading

I agree the website can be somewhat daunting. What I ended up doing was emailing AFA and telling them what I was thinking of getting graded and what sort of tiers those things would fall into. They told me my stuff would fall into tier ____, so that was how I filled everything out. When I got the invoice from them stating what they had received and were processing, they had put it in a different tier, since I guess the one they told me was wrong. Either way, I got one of my items back and its great!

I've only got experience submitting carded figures. As Reid said you choose a tier and it'll tell you the cost. Not sure what "u" grading costs.

I will say if i owned that Bats I'd leave it carded. Loads of loose Batman figures out there.

Re: AFA grading

The bubble is dented at the top and there is a crease going through the middle of the card where the top of the bubble is. Overall, its sealed pretty good, the creasing on the card has not really worn out the seal although it goes along the bubble rather closely. The bottom right corner of the card is bent, would that have an effect over time on the bubble if the card were put in a case? Im thinkin along the lines of the force of the card being straight starting to wear away at the seal...

I think you'd be fine putting it in a case.
