Aaron's other toy collections...

The only other toy line that I collect with anything close to the enthusiasm I have toward the Super Powers line is Kenner's Indiana Jones release from 1982.

Raiders is (of course) my all-time favorite movie and I played with these toys when I was a kid. I love the vintage Kenner goodness (feels like a sister set to Star Wars) and it's a small manageable set. Like Super Powers, I'm trying for a complete US production run in AFA 85 or better.

Here are my play-sets:

Lastly, my Belloq in Ceremonial Robe mailer. Super-common mailer, but the carded version of this one has been my ultimate hobby grail for more than 20 years. Had a chance to buy one about four years ago, but just too expensive.

At this point, I'd settle for a legit proof card, although I hope to get another shot at a carded example one day. emoticon

Very nice! I never realized ceremonial belloq was released on card. Marion is the last one I need to track down too.

Yep, a very small number were produced but never sold at retail (see link below). They are extremely rare and a true holy grail piece. I had a chance to buy an AFA 85 example about four years ago for $11k, but didn't have the bucks.

I still need the Arabian Horse, Desert Convoy truck, and Streets of Cairo play-set. Those are all very, very tough to find in high-grade.

No idea. That's the last one I've seen available publicly or privately. (It would be interesting to see what would happen if one popped up on E-Bay.)

Re: Aaron's other toy collections...

Rich, I went back and checked my old e-mails and the seller was actually asking $12,500, but offered it to me for $11,500 if I paid quickly.

I remember thinking if it were $8-10k, I would figure out a way to swing it (worst-case I could always sell a bunch of stuff to pay for it), but that $11,500 was just too much for a single figure, so I passed.

Not sure if I made a mistake or not, although I will say I have far more regret over not buying that Golden Superman last summer than not buying the carded Belloq in Ceremonial Robes.

Here are the photos of the piece:
