Mark ( JLA90)

Greetings all,

Just wanted to saw what an awesome site this is. Usually I only read through forums picking up small pieces of info, but the level of interest here really amazed me. I started collecting Super Powers toys about a year ago, I grew up on the BTAS line so I started collecting some of those mostly. However, it came back to me through collecting them that one of the Batmans I had as a kid (which my cousin gave me in some rough condition) was in fact from this line and may interest has only grown with more and more knowledge about it. As of now, I have some loose figures: WW, Batman, Superman, Robin, Lex, Joker, Penguin, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, and Aquaman. I was recently fortunate to pick up a 12back Batman and Lex, and a small card Robin. As of right now, I have been in hot pursuit of a loose Shazam figure (recently got one in a lot), but there was no cape, so currently I am wondering if there are any good ideas for getting a hold of capes or replicas? Aside from that I'd probably like to get a Darkseid and Green Arrow figure, along with the Ice Man (have the Toy Biz version). As well, I'm just wondering with some of the transactions that go on, what sort of policy/procedures take place with sales and is shipping mostly within the States, as I'm in Canada. It is amazing the collections people have put together (don't quite have the money to invest as others, but slowly picking pieces up along the way is just as enjoyable). Looking forward to learning a whole lot more and meeting other collectors along the way!

Cheers

Welcome to KSP Mark!

No one, I know of, makes repro capes. I've made some for customs and commissions, but never anything close to the real material that was used (so as not to be passed off as the real thing), but close enough to look good displayed with the others. Finding a repro Shazam would be a really hard task since it has the symbols on the cape making it hard to replicate.

Sounds like you have a great start to your collection and good luck the rest. Green Arrow came with bow, bow string and 2 arrows.

I'm guessing that "Iceman" is Mr. Freeze?

As for transactions, it's between the buyer and seller to work out the details before hand.

Hello thanks for the positive welcome...looks like the spare Robin cape will take over Shazam's shoulders for the time being. Also, when replying on forums to individuals while keeping it in the thread do you have to link to people's posts or just reply in general? I know people can post the quote they are replying to specifically, just wondering if that is the route to go.

Hi Mark,

Using the general reply button is usually the best and fastest way to go. The post volume is very manageable here, so folks will know who you're responding to for the most part. Whatever works best for you though!

Welcome Mark!

You don't have to quote other posters, but you can if you want to. You'll pick it up in no time. Generally if you just reply in the same thread we'll all know who or what you're referring to. Sounds like quite a collection you've started. I know where there's a Mr. Freeze locally, he's just really dirty and he's missing his helmet. Let me know if you want me to check on the price for you. I wouldn't mind to ship it to Canada as long as you pay for everything. As usual with new members, I suggest pouring back through the older posts and getting familiar with the line itself. I have a pretty massive BTAS MOC collection myself, I'd love to hear about yours!
