Hey guys! Thought I would participate in this. Definitely a nice idea on your part Mike. Kudos. I figure I'm probably one of the more ghostly members on here, interacting only sporadically, and although not intentionally as such it seems like I only talk to the same handful of guys, so maybe this will give everyone a better idea of who I am.

Name: Reid

Hometown: Holland, Michigan

Current Town: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Collecting Since: Mid 90's.

Collecting Interests: Clearly we're all here because of a shared interest. I've collected Super Powers on and off since the mid 90's. I've given up on Super Powers collecting a few times but always come back to it. I finished my loose Kenner collection a couple years ago and have been slowly chipping away at loose and carded foreign figures, the occasional domestic carded figures, and card backs (I'll owe you big time if you can point me to a Steppenwolf cardback that's in decent shape, as its the last character I'm missing (NOT carded figure)). Given my student status I cant be as aggressive in my collecting as I might like, which means most of my acquisitions are usually pretty modest and few and far between. That will change though. In addition to Super Powers I collect:

- Masterpiece Transformers
- The occasional Vintage Transformer, specifically focusing on Soundwave, though I'm open to whatever
- Transformer Re-issues

I've been thinking about branching out into vintage 3 3/4 G.I. Joes and MOTU, but I think that will wait for the time being until I'm done with school.

I collected Star Wars stuff for years, but gave up when I realized that there would never be an END to it. Thats part of the appeal of Super Powers. There are enough figures and foreign options, etc. that collecting is fun and challenging, but not as daunting as trying to keep up with larger series, like Star Wars.

I started my collecting with Power Rangers. I was too old to play with them but I appreciated that they were pretty cool. From there Star Wars and Super Powers and the rest is history, I've been hooked ever since.

Other Interests: Basketball. I live for it. Whether its playing or watching (NBA, I dont get into College other than the tournament). I've been SCUBA diving for about 16 years now. The occasional video game, movies (Star Wars of course and 007), and spending time with my girlfriend. School is definitely the majority of my time though.

So thats ME! Thanks for taking the time to learn a thing or two about me!

I'm always happy to interact with you guys in whatever capacity I can. Those few who I have had interactions with will tell you I'm happy to do whatever I can to help you in your collecting, whenever I can.

Reid

Congrats on being at the end of law school....I know a few people that were engineers like me that went into patent law, and they say the job market is good in that profession... just an FYI if you are technically minded.

I like transformers as well. I picked up several loose complete ones over the years, and they are fun to display and my son likes to play with them from time to time. I'm not a crazy collector, but like to collect some of the guys that appeal to me. My favorite has to be either G1 Predaking or G1 Omega Supreme. I only wish I could get a pretty decent shape Tank to replace my broken one for Omega Supreme.

Hey Jon! Thanks for the Congrats. I'm definitely eager to be done. No, definitely not technically minded, though I do hear good things about patent law, my cousin is one too.

You sound like me with the TF's, you seem to have liked the big ones. I definitely always like the combiners like Devastator and Superion. But as I've gotten older I've grown to appreciate just about all of them for one reason or another. I wouldn't consider myself a crazy collector either, well, at least right now. In the past I've definitely been a completionist, which is why I needed to get away from Star Wars, since there isn't a realistic end to that stuff. Super Powers is my main collection, with my masterpiece TF's second, then random this's and thats from other areas like Gundam, a few vinatage G.I. Joes, etc. Thats awesome that your son enjoys the TF's too! I'm REALLY looking forward to that. Watch now I'll have all daughters. Wouldn't be all bad, but I'd definitely love to have a son to share all this stuff with.

Do you keep an eye out on ebay for a replacement Tank?

Reid

I do from time to time... sometimes they go super high which is usually the case when I'm looking... other times really low.
