WTB Canadian Carded Super Powers

Hello - I'm new to the board and to collecting Super Powers figures. I'm a long time vintage Star Wars collector and I decided to branch out into another one of my favorite childhood toys.

I'm after carded Super Powers on Canadian cards - if anyone has any to sell. If so, please contact me at mckillop@ssimicro.com

Below is a list of Canadian figures I already have.

Thanks
Craig

Canadian MOC that I have
Superman
Robin
Lex Luther
Penguin
Kalibak
Red Tornado
Shazam
Desaad
Parademon
Shazam
Orion

Craig, Ebay will most likely represent your best avenue of acquisition on the Kenner Canada carded figures. Many, but not all, collectors seem to shun the Canadian cards in favor of the US ones, which sometimes leads to pretty good bargains for Canadian carded examples on Ebay. I checked James Gallo's inventory for you, but it doesn't appear that he has any characters right now that you still need.

Craig, one further bit of info for you on your quest. Don't bother seeking out a Canadian carded Cyborg since he was only released on the US cards. There's also some mounting evidence that Steppenwolf, which I previously believed to have been released on a Canadian card, might represent a second character that saw a US only carded release.

Thanks for the info Mike. I emailed you a few weeks back and you gave me the info on Cyborg and Steppenwolf. Most of the figures that I listed, I picked up on Ebay over the last month or so. I was just hoping someone here might have a few for sale.

I did check out James' site to see if he had any but I think he just has Superman and Kalibak on Canadian cards.

I'm also after the vehicles and the Hall of Justice in Canadian boxes. I know that the HOJ and Lex-soar 7 came in Canadian boxes because I had/have both of them from my childhood (not the boxes though) I also saw a Canadian Hall of Justice at Shane's Toy Show in Edmonton. It was opened and the box was in so-so condition.

Do you know if all the vehicles were released in Canada?

Craig

Ah yes, I remember the email now, Craig.

As for the Canadian vehicles, that's a very good question you posed, but one that I don't have a definitive answer for unfortunately. I'll have to add the Canadian boxed vehicles to my tracking file to see if all of them can be documented as existing. I'm definitely up for the challenge! :^)

You can also add the Batmobile to the Canadian list as I had that as a kid also. Of course, I am assuming that the Batmobile and Lex Soar-7 that I had were in Canadian boxes. I guess they might have been US Kenner boxes. Star Wars US Kenner boxes showed up in Canada.

I can guarentee that the Hall of Justice came in a Canadian box.

I just picked up Green Arrow and Darkseid on Canadian cards so I can scratch those off the list. I am just waiting to hear back on Wonder Woman.

As Mike said, ebay is a good source for getting Canadian cards, although most sellers don't actually mention its a canadian card. Of the normal size cards, I've managed to get more Canadian cards than US cards.

Yes - It makes it more difficult tracking figures down when sellers don't mention Canadian in the description. I've had the same problem with vintage Canadian Star Wars figures but the Super Powers situation is even worse.

If you want to part with any of those Canadian cards, let me know emoticon

Are you collecting the 8 figures released on the "short" cards as well?
