It was really cool seeing this guy in the plastic.

Cool picture. Was this a for sale item? Having never been to a celebration I was curious if other toy lines than star wars are present. Were there very many other toy lines and items or just the few we can see in this pic?

I would say that 95% of the toys there were Star Wars related.

In this particular case nothing was priced...I think it was for show. I can't remember the guys name, but he is a well known collector and dealer. I think this was some of his personal stuff?? But I'm not 100% sure. I suppose everything has a price.

Yes, the Captain Ray (and most of the items in his booth) were from that collector's personal collection. He also had a bunch of Kresge carded Megos superheroes and this incredible Ideal Justice League play-set. None of it for sale.

The only other dealer I saw with anything that would be of interest to a Super Powers collector was one dealer trying to pass of reproduction copies of Man-Bat and Quadrex as authentic hard-copies and asking for $10k each. He also tried to pass off a standard Firstorm torso as the torso from the unproduced Power Plus version of Firestorm for $2k.

I was going to stay for the room sales later that night, but they didn't start until 11 and I needed to get back home. (I'm sure Mike can fill in if there was anything SP related there.)

Still had a great time (one day was not enough!) talking to friends and checking everything out, but the most interesting purchase I mad was a Chocolate Whammy ice cream sandwich at one of the food rucks outside. emoticon

Yes...that Batcave was awesome! Were you there on Friday by any chance? I spoke briefly with another guy taking those exact shots. I told him "this is the only pic I've taken of a toy today". Maybe it was you?

Yep, I was there on Friday. Grey shorts, white t-shirt and flip flops. Was it me?

Ha...it might have been. Were you using a nice camera to take those shots? Were you with one other person? I was just using my iPhone. That would be funny if we crossed paths. I almost asked the guy if he was part of this forum just because I thought it was too much of a coincidence that we were both taking shots of Captain Rayo.

LOL, no just using my iPhone as well. I spent while at the booth talking with the dealer and a friend and then another friend who is a Star wars collector showed up so I probably spent two hours at that booth just hanging out.

The event made me think that we (by which I mean Mike) should organize some sort of Super Powers collectors get together. Not sure if there's a way to do it so it wouldn't be sop costly to travel, but would be great if we could all meet up at a toy convention or something.

I know I'll be at San Diego for ComicCon, so if anyone else is planning on going we should try and organize a meeting for all of us from the forum.

Oh well, that would have been cool if it was you. Now the question begs, was it another on this board? LOL!

It would be cool to meet up. I'm sure logistically that would be difficult. I would definitely meet up at a Con.

The Mego guys meet up. I forget what they call it, but it is kind of like a summit were they all get together.
